Dr. Jonathan King

The Author

Dr. Jonathan King is an educator, international executive, and civil rights witness who grew up at the heart of the Albany Movement. The son of activists Marion and Slater King, he experienced the struggle firsthand, integrating Georgia’s schools and knowing Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. as “Uncle Marty.” This intimate history provides the foundation for his memoir, A Seat at the Table, offering a rare perspective on the personal sacrifices required for justice.

His distinguished career spans global business and music, including serving as the first foreign Director for Sony Japan. Dr. King holds degrees from Morehouse College, Harvard University, and the International University of Japan, as well as a Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Austin. Today, he is the CEO of JTK International Consulting LLC, where he specializes in organizational transformation, leadership excellence, and DEI. Grounded in a lifelong commitment to unity, Dr. King uses his unique insight as a scholar and leader to help organizations worldwide reckon with identity and build lasting, practical change.
